Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by an Attractive Safaris representative and transferred to your hotel. The next day you'll be driven to the volcanoes, ready the next day for a visit to the famous Mountain Gorillas and the following day a visit to the Golden Monkeys, then back to Kigali.

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali

On arrival at Kigali international airport, you will be met by Attractive Safaris and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2: Kigali-Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, your driver guide will meet you at your hotel for departure to the volcanoes region. On the way, enjoy the picturesque and panoramic view of a thousand hills and other tourist attractions in the region. After lunch in tourist Musanze town, go on to discover the volcanoes region, sightseeing around the Burera-Ruhondo twin lakes.

Day 3: Mountain gorillas visit

Gorilla tracking: meet early in the morning at the National Park office for a briefing. With the help of an official guide and trackers, in groups of no more than 8 people, you set off in search of mountain gorillas. Tracking can take from 2 to 6 hours. Once the group of gorillas has been spotted and approached by the trackers, you can observe them for no more than an hour, from a distance of no more than 5 meters, so as not to disturb them. Peaceful and debonair, gorillas seem totally indifferent to your presence and go on with their lives, playing, rolling, delousing, sleeping... and feeding in their natural habitat. Occasionally, they come very close to you, even touching you... It's a unique and fascinating moment.

Afternoon: Visit the Iby'iwacu cultural village and marvel at the Rwandan folk dances. A very exciting experience of Rwandan tradition, culture and customs.

Day 4: The golden monkeys hike

After breakfast, drive to the Volcanoes Park offices in Kinigi, where your golden monkey (cercopithecus mitis kandti) observation tour will start.

Golden monkeys are found only in the Volcanoes National Park preservation zone. Two clans have been habituated to human presence.

After lunch, visit the town of Musanze.

 Terms of payment

• Payment is made in dollars or euros at the current dollar/euro exchange rate. A deposit of 50% of the price is paid to confirm the trip. The balance (50%) must be paid at least 30 days before the group's arrival. When you make a deposit, you accept our terms and conditions.
• As a general rule, payment is made by bank transfer, the cost of the transfer being at your charge.
• Direct Online Payment (DPO) is also available at an additional cost of 3.5% of the amount sent.
• If required, payment by credit card at our office in Kigali is also possible at an additional cost of 3% of the amount paid.
• To send you bank details, please let us know in which currency and payment method you wish to pay.

Equipment:

• - Hiking shoes: suitable hiking shoes are top priority for safaris in Volcanoes National Park...
• - Hiking clothing: wear comfortable clothing such as warm clothes, jeans and a long-lasting T-shirt.
• - Bring a pair of gaiters to protect pants and shoes in the rainy season.
• - Raincoat: you'll need a raincoat (it can rain at any time in the volcanoes).
• - Binoculars: for bird watching in the park
• - Insect repellent: some insect bites can be irritating and can also cause illness. Tourists should therefore take insect repellent with them to avoid being bitten by insects in the park that can cause illness.
• - Painkillers: volcano trekking can be somewhat exhausting, leading to muscle and joint pain. 
•   Painkillers will be needed to relieve tension and muscle pain after hiking in the Virunga mountains.
• - You are encouraged to bring your own food and drink (cookies or concentrates, sufficient mineral water, juice, etc.).
