Day 1: Kigali to Volcanoes National Park

Today, you will be welcome by Attractive Safaris at your hotel or at the airport and transfer straight to your hotel at the foot of the Volcanoes to be ready the next day to visit the famous Mountain Gorillas.

 Day 2: Mountain gorillas hike

Early breakfast before proceeding to the park head quarters where visitors assemble at 07.00 for a briefing on how to “behave “while in the company of a gorilla group. You will meet your guide here and proceed to the starting point of the trek to our allocated group of gorillas. The length of the trek varies depending on where the gorillas are as well as what the weather conditions are.

It is important to bring good hiking boots, long trousers for protection against stinging nettles, some snacks & sweets as well as sufficient amount of water as the rain forest gets hot and humid during the day. Once the group of gorillas have been spotted and approached thanks to the trackers, at a distance of 5 meters maximum, so as not to disturb them, you spend one hour with the gorillas which is a truly amazing experience " before trekking back to the base and return to your lodge.

Easygoing and peaceful, gorillas seem totally indifferent to our presence and continue their lives, playing, rolling, delousing, sleeping ... and feeding in their plant world. Sometimes they come very close to us, until they touch us ... It's a unique, fascinating moment

Encountering the mountain gorillas in the wild is a truly humbling and emotional experience, one that you are sure to remember for the rest of your life.

Then back to the foot of the volcano to return at your hotel.

Day 3: Golden monkey hike

Early in the morning at 7:00 am: after enjoying your breakfast, head for adventure trekking for the rare golden monkeys in the bamboo forest. This genus of golden primates is only present in the conservation area of the Volcanoes National Park. Two clans were used to the human presence. Although the sight and stay with these monkeys is maintained for up to a maximum of one hour, you will be able to observe golden monkeys in their natural habitat up close.

After lunch, return to Kigali, and then transfer to the airport or elsewhere of your choice in Kigali City.

Payment terms

Payment is made in Dollars or Euros at the current exchange rate from dollar to euro. A deposit of 50% of the price is paid to confirm the trip. The balance (50%) must be paid at least 30 days before the arrival of the group. When you make a deposit you accept our terms and conditions.

• As a rule, payment is made by bank transfer, the cost of the bank transfer at your charge.
• Direct Payment Online (DPO) is also possible at an additional cost of 3.5% of the sent amount.
• To send you bank details, please let us know in which currency and method of payment you wish to pay.
• If needed, payment by credit card at our office in Kigali is also possible at an additional cost of 3% of the paid amount.

Equipment: 

• • Hiking shoes: suitable hiking shoes are top priority for Volcanoes NP safaris.
• • Hiking clothes: wear comfortable clothes such as warm clothes, jeans, long-lasting t-shirt. Bring a pair of gaiters to protect the bottom of the pants and the shoes in the rainy season.
• • Raincoat: you need a rain coat (in volcanoes it can rain anytime)
• • Binoculars: for bird watching in the Park
• • Insect repellent: some insect bites can be irritating and can also cause diseases. Therefore, for any tourist to be free from such instances they should carry with them an insect repellent to avoid being bitten by insects in the Park which can cause desaeses
• • Pain killers: Volcanoes hiking can be a little exhausting which can lead to sore muscles and joint pains. Pain killers will be needed to relieve yourself from tensions and muscle pains after hiking the Virunga mountains
