Spotting the Big Five in Akagera National Park! This full-day safari will take you through Akagera National Park from south to north (approximately 7 hours). At the end of your safari, you will realize that you have had a real rich experience in flora and fauna which cannot be experienced elsewhere than in this wooded savannah.

What to see: Big 5 (lions, rhinos, elephant, and buffalo leopard), giraffe, zebra, antelopes, impala, oribis, and secretive bushbuck, as well as the ungainly tsessebe and the world’s largest antelope, the statuesque Cepeeland…)

Itinerary

Day 1: Akagera full-day safari

Very early in the morning at 5:00 a.m, our professional driver guide will pick you up at your hotel and drive you to Akagera National Park. (around 3 hours of transfer).

You will have your breakfast at Imigongo Art Center (1:30 drive).

After check-in at Akagera National Park gate, you will start your safari which can take around 7 hours of the rich fauna and flora sightings of the Park.  

Lunch at Mihindi Café and Campsite inside the Park:

Then continue the tour and then return to Kigali and drop you off at your hotel around 18:00.

Meals: Breakfast and Lunch during the visit (Picnic)

Drinks: Mineral water (Other drinks not included)

On this shared tour, you will join a group of other travelers. This trip is guaranteed for 5 - 7 people. For less than 5 people or more than 7, the price can be adjusted to the group size.

This tour is suitable for children 13+ and pay as adults. Children must be accompanied by an adult to enjoy this tour. Rwandan/EAC citizens, Rwandan/EAC residents, and Africans get discounts.

Payment terms

Payment is made in Dollars or Euros at the current exchange rate from dollar to euro. As a rule, payment is made by bank transfer, and the cost of bank transfer is at your charge.

Direct Payment Online (DPO) is possible at an additional cost of 3.5% of the sent amount.

Payment by credit card at our office in Kigali is also possible at an additional cost of 3% of the paid amount. To send you bank details, please let us know in which currency and method of payment you wish to pay.

This tour starts and ends in Kigali. The client can be picked up and dropped off at the airport or hotel in Kigali city. Please inform about the same at the time of booking. Before or after trip, accommodation, airport transfer on arrival or departure can be arranged at an additional cost. Travel insurance is mandatory and obtaining it for the days you are visiting is your responsibility. Please email us your proof of insurance before arriving for the trip. Also, bring your insect repellent, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, binoculars,... When you make a deposit you accept our terms and conditions. In alignment with Rwanda's plan to reduce the use of single-use plastic and in order to promote environmental protection through sustainable practices, we recommend that tourists bring their own refillable water bottles.
